Sonoma County stretches from the Pacific to the vineyards, and you can cross it in about an hour — a working fishing harbor at Bodega Bay, redwood cabin towns along the Russian River, and the wine valleys around Healdsburg and the town of Sonoma. Our vacation rentals cover the coast, the river, and the wine country, with Napa and Calistoga just over the county line.
Every home is managed by our own local team, so you book direct with the people who take care of the house. The total you see includes cleaning and all property fees, before taxes — no booking-site service fee on top.
Looking for The Sea Ranch? It sits in the county's far northwest corner and has its own page with every Sea Ranch and Gualala home.
Sonoma County questions
Which part of Sonoma County should I stay in?
Bodega Bay for the coast and the shortest drive from San Francisco; the Russian River for redwoods, river beaches, and cabin towns; Healdsburg or Sonoma Valley for wineries and walkable plazas. All three are within about an hour of each other, so many guests split a week between two.
How far is the coast from wine country?
Healdsburg to Bodega Bay is roughly an hour through the redwoods and river towns. Sonoma to Bodega Bay is about an hour and a quarter. A coast morning and a vineyard afternoon in the same day is realistic.
Are your Sonoma County homes dog friendly?
Many are — dogs only, 50 pounds and under, with per-home limits shown before you book. Doran Beach in Bodega Bay allows leashed dogs, and most Russian River cabins welcome them. Use the dog-friendly filter on any destination page.
