The stay

Golden hills unfold beyond the deck as you settle into this modern farmhouse on an 11-acre working ranch. A striking black-and-white palette and open floor plan give way to panoramic valley views — sheep grazing below, sunset painting the ridgeline. Penngrove puts you 10 minutes from Petaluma, 25 minutes from Sonoma Plaza, and within easy reach of every wine region in the county. Bring the dogs and let the quiet of ranch country settle in.

The space

Spend mornings on the porch as the ranch wakes up, afternoons exploring Petaluma's downtown or driving north to Sonoma Plaza's tasting rooms, and evenings on the deck as sunset paints the ridgelines gold. A sofa, upholstered armchairs, and a glass coffee table beneath abstract art draw you into the open living room. The full kitchen continues the clean line — shaker cabinetry to the ceiling, a French door fridge anchoring the stainless lineup, quartz counters, and a peninsula with bar seating that keeps the conversation flowing toward the dining table beyond. Every line of the home frames the working ranch out back where sheep graze across the golden hills. OUTDOOR LIVING The elevated wood deck is the standout. Woven lounge chairs and a bistro table face sweeping views of golden hills, distant mountains, and the working ranch below. A brick paver patio near the entrance offers additional space for morning coffee. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS Three bedrooms for up to six guests. The primary suite has a king bed with a spacious layout. A second bedroom holds a queen with bathroom access, and a third offers a queen with ceiling fan and desk. PROPERTY AMENITIES -- Central AC -- Full kitchen with stainless appliances -- Smart lock entry -- Dog-friendly (up to 2 dogs) -- Elevated deck with valley views -- Brick paver patio

The house is amazing and beautiful. The property is large and private. There are a variety of birds, deer, skunks , cows and horses to entertain you. Overall, good experience.

The house and land are beautiful (and quiet), we loved seeing animals roaming the property, and it was an easy walk or drive to Penngrove Market. Management company allowed us to check in a little early, and they were quick and effectively responsive to some issues we had. Attention to detail around the house could be improved - a broken lamp, some ripped window screens that lets flies in, kitchen not stocked with many mugs, plates, etc. But overall a lovely stay!

This place was awesome. It was a great place to get away. Super peaceful. The pictures didn’t do it justice. It was even cleaner and better than it looked. Host was responsive within usually about 5 to 10 minutes every time and very accommodating

Overall we had a great stay. My few four star categories are related to some inconsistencies because the Airbnb was clearly a newer location when we stayed there. Nothing that made our trip worse but some simple areas of improvement. Some things to note: there’s a gate to the home, which is nice, but you have to punch in the same code to exit the gate as well. It was a little confusing the first time we left but once you figure it out, it’s really easy. The property that the house is on is large, but it doesn’t feel like a working form more like an old farm. A lot of the buildings are more rundown and have been unused for sometime. One fun thing about the area as we saw a lot of wildlife. Multiple sightings of deer, quail, etc. Also, there’s some fruit trees on site which made for fun with the kids in the morning. Outside of the listing being a little expensive, we definitely felt like it was easy enough to drive to locations in Petaluma or Cotati. Also very drivable for wineries.

Thank you, Mike — we’re glad you had a great stay and appreciated the property overall. We’re sorry for the small inconsistencies you noticed, and your feedback is very helpful as this is a newer listing. It’s great to know the gate system became easy once figured out, and that the wildlife and fruit trees added a fun touch for your family. We’re also happy the location worked well for exploring Petaluma, Cotati, and nearby wineries. We truly appreciate your thoughtful review and hope to welcome you back again!
