Things to Do in Napa, California — A Local Team's Guide
Napa is the city at the south end of Napa Valley, about 75 minutes north of San Francisco. Eat at Oxbow, walk the downtown tasting rooms, and reserve a Stags Leap tasting on the Silverado Trail. The 19 homes we manage are condos at Silverado Resort on Atlas Peak Road. Downtown is a 10-to-15-minute drive, not a stroll.

Sonoma Wine Country Weekend — Russian River, Dry Creek, Sonoma Valley
Shape a Sonoma wine weekend around one valley per day. Russian River Valley pours cool-climate Pinot and Chardonnay under fog and redwood edges. Dry Creek is Zin and picnic lawns. Sonoma Valley runs Highway 12 from the Plaza through Glen Ellen and Kenwood. Book tastings by Wednesday, and put a designated driver in the plan before the first glass.

What are the Silverado Resort rentals like?
They're privately owned condos inside the Silverado Resort in Napa, managed by us, with the space and kitchen of a condo rather than a hotel room. The setting is the resort's — fairways, mature trees, walking paths — but access is condo-level: the community pool is included, the spa and fitness center are available for a fee set by the resort, and the golf courses and main resort pool are not available to condo guests. The on-site restaurants, market, and shops are open to the public.
Is Napa or Sonoma better for a wine trip?
Napa is more concentrated and polished; Sonoma is more spread out and varied. We manage homes in both, so compare our Napa and Sonoma Valley pages — from either base you can day-trip to the other in under an hour.
How far is Napa from San Francisco?
About an hour and a quarter north without traffic. Calistoga, at the top of the valley, adds another 30 minutes.
