Walk 1.9 miles to Point of ridge, or 1.8 miles to the Cazadero General Store.

The space

Spend mornings on the deck as light filters through the redwoods and Austin Creek runs below, afternoons floating the Russian River or visiting Korbel and Joseph Jewell tasting rooms (each about 10 minutes away), and evenings around the seasonal wood-burning fire pit with the day's bottles. The grey sofa and an armchair sit on a cowhide rug in the open living space, and a Roku TV stands ready for movie nights. Neighborhood

Cazadero is a quiet redwood canyon town on Austin Creek, a step removed from the busier Russian River resorts. The Cazadero General Store (1.8 miles) covers the basics, Raymond's Bakery is a local favorite, and Guerneville — with Johnson's Beach, restaurants, and tasting rooms — is about 20 minutes away. Armstrong Redwoods and the Sonoma Coast at Jenner both make classic day trips.

Things to know

The indoor wood-burning stove is not available for guest use. The outdoor fire pit is seasonal and wood-burning, and its use is subject to local burn bans.
