We have stayed in a lot of cabins along the Northern California coast and this one had one of the best views. We spent most of our time on the porch and in the main room looking at the forest and ocean in the distance. We did not see or hear any neighbors. This isn’t a fancy or modern cabin but it is well maintained. The host also responded quickly when we had a little trouble with the outdoor grill. The kitchen had enough cookware for us to have all of our meals at the cabin. It was also an easy drive to Surf Market, our favorite market in the area. We were happy that there was a DVD player and made use of it. All in all, a very nice place to stay and we would go back!

The property has a nice location and views, but unfortunately our stay was disappointing due to some important issues with the listing and amenities.
Our biggest concern was the heating. The host confirmed that the home is primarily heated by a gas fireplace and an electric wall heater in the living area. The upstairs bedroom remained very cold, and our kids were uncomfortable during the night. We were advised to use the ceiling fan to circulate the heat and later told there should be a portable space heater in the closet. For families traveling with young children, I think the limited heating arrangement should be made much clearer in the listing.
There was also confusing information regarding a dishwasher. Airbnb’s departure instructions included dishwasher instructions, but there is actually no dishwasher in the house. The host clarified that the dishwasher was not listed as an amenity and that the instructions were included in error.

The location was convenient, and the house worked fine for our short stay, but it was the most basic Airbnb we’ve stayed in and the listing sets much higher expectations. The mattresses and box springs felt decades old, one twin bed had springs you could feel, and the pillows were flat and lumpy. Lighting was very poor throughout the house. Several lights didn’t work, including the porch light and night lights, and other fixtures flickered. We also found it odd that several windows, including the bedroom, had no coverings, leaving very little privacy. The home was minimally stocked, with very few towels despite having unused shelving available to store more in the bathroom. For the price this home likely generates, a few inexpensive upgrades, new mattresses and pillows, better lighting, window coverings, more towels, better stocking of amenities would make a significant difference in the guest experience. It served its purpose, but we wouldn’t stay here again.

Fantastic retreat with ocean sounds. Short drive down the hill to all the north coast beach and bluff hikes you could want. Love that the gas fireplace was wired into the thermostat. Forest views in spades.

WARNING: DO NOT BOOK. This listing is a total scam. The photos are outdated and the property is old, gross, and completely uninhabitable. We drove 9 hours for our honeymoon only to be met with a rotting animal carcass on-site and an unbearable stench of death throughout the house. We had to flee within 30 minutes of arriving.
The plumbing and electric are completely outdated and unsafe. The host, Casago, is heartless and unethical, stealing over $1,700 from us for only being in the home for 30 minutes. They refused a refund of any percentage for a massive health and safety violation. This place is a health hazard and is not worth the drive or flight from anywhere. Save your money and stay far away.

Great getaway spot. This place has so much potential if it could be renovated and redecorated. Wonderful quiet cabin in the woods, gives that privacy and quiet you wish for. Some bathroom light flickers which could feel creepy at night as the place isn’t very well lit. But enough natural light during the day. Overall a great experience.
