December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. April through June brings stunning wildflower displays along the bluffs and throughout Gualala Point Regional Park. The warmest months run June to September. Coastal fog is common early in the day but gives way to sunshine by afternoon.

The home felt like an upgraded cabin with ocean views. It has a beautiful garden and amazing views of the ocean. You can hear the waves from the porch. The kitchen has everything that you might need to whip up some meals or do some BBQ. The host was very responsive when there was a 2-3 hr power cut and had candles and battery powered lights available. The EV charger is also a good amenity. (Just don’t forget to carry your adapter.) It is a great place by the coast to relax over a weekend. Gualala has amazing sunsets and sea ranch is a must visit for all architecture enthusiasts. The hosts had great suggestions and were very responsive. Would highly recommend. :)

This Airbnb was a gorgeous retreat for my friends and I who just needed to get away for the long weekend. The space was comfortable, beautiful, and the deck with an ocean view was exactly the reprieve we needed from city life.
Any hiccups or issues (of which there were few and any were minor) were easy to communicate with the hosts who were responsive and kind. The hosts were also VERY friendly and welcoming and shared wonderful things to do and experience in the scenic Gualala area.
I give this space a 5/5, but I will say that the layout is far more open than expected (though if I read other reviews I would have been more prepared. The primary suite does not have a shower and the bathroom does not have a ceiling so it’s open to the primary suite (which also doesnt have a full height wall or door that separates it from the house) which was a bit awkward when staying with friends. But ultimately something we could all get over for the most part.
Otherwise WONDERFUL bnb. I recommend!

Shangri-Lala was exactly that! This home is truly an incredible stay. The pictures already make it look amazing, it’s even better in person. This was the first Airbnb I’ve stayed at (and I’ve had my share) where it was so well equipped, had absolutely everything we could have needed and more. There isn’t a room or spot in the house that doesn’t have a gorgeous view of the ocean. Our host was so kind, responsive, and truly made us feel like so at home. I can’t believe this home is shared with all of us. Do not pass it up. Book it any chance you get, it will be one of the best Airbnb experiences you have, and a place you can’t stop telling people about! It’s the definition of coastal oasis.

Stayed with two girlfriends and had the most peaceful weekend in the pine trees. The house is bigger and more beautiful in person than in the photos. We particularly loved the sound of the waves that wafted in through the windows and how clear the stars are at night. Full kitchen had everything we needed and more. Rooms and furniture were up to date and perfectly clean. Loved it!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Shangri-La and would certainly recommend it. The place was extremely clean, with very comfortable beds. Although we eat out for all our meals, the kitchen and setting for eating meals there are terrific. Additionally, the hosts were very responsive to any questions.
