Guest access
The entire home is yours to enjoy -- make yourself at home from the moment you arrive. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times.
Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast.
Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring (April-June) brings a wildflower show across the coastal meadows -- lupine, poppies, and iris paint the landscape. Summer (June-September) brings the warmest days and longest light. Morning fog is common along the coast -- it usually burns off by midday.

The location was perfect as it was close to the trails. The house was not as expected while the bathrooms and vanities were nice and updated other aspects of the house were not, The landscaping in the courtyard needs attention as the weeds were way overgrown. There were someone’s shoes in the main courtyard, and a mousetrap in the upstairs bathroom. Not what we expected for the price we paid for this house rental. My family has been coming up to Sea Ranch for 50 years and have rented many different houses. This house is not in the top ten.

Everything we were looking for
We were disappointed when our usual vacation rental was booked out for the dates we wanted to travel. We found this sweet place instead, and were pleasantly surprised. It's a beautiful place in a beautiful and quiet spot. The hot tub was perfect! Thanks so much, we'll be back.

Classic Sea Ranch Gem
Overall the house was amazing. I would say the only improvements would be cleanliness and amenities. For the most part the house was clean but the hot tub was relatively dirty. As for amenities, I believe you provided the bare minimum for the price paid. The recreation centers were a surprising bonus.

Light filled, lovely location- vacasa fail
We loved this house's proximity to the ocean and how spacious and gorgeous it was! We had a special event that weekend, it was perfect for hosting a few friends for snacks and taking in the amazing views, plus the primary bathroom was wonderful! Overall, a great house, clean and modern. (Also great selection of books from the owner!) However, there were many lights that did not work at all. The lights that did work are a horrible bright blue LED all over the house- so not very pleasant at night. The main bedroom has zero lighting except this extreme bright light (think airport, then add brightness, like you need sunglasses.) Not a single lamp for near the bed or reading and relaxing. No relaxing at night in this house with that lighting! Vacasa needs to fix this and replace the bulbs that are out all over the house. This poor quality lighting makes it feel cheap, like an airport at night, and like they don't want to bother with repairs. We had also requested an extra parking pass for a friend, which the vacasa office promised to put in our packet. We never got it, had to call, and then were told we'd have to drive all the way back to the office.
Finally, we called about this in advance to be safe, AND selected late checkout, which was available online, and sent payment. We assumed it went through and received no other notification. The next day after a special occasion, when we assumed we could relax since we paid for late checkout, we got repeated text messages that we needed to be out by 10 am. When we called the local office, no answer, for hours on a weekday. We called the main number, and they said we did not get the late checkout and it never went through. We planned this trip for over 6 months in advance with a lot of emotion going into it- it wasn't a simple vacation, but a celebration. I called the office in advance to ask about late checkout, and they told us to do it online that weekend. We did and it didn't work. Then there was no way to reach anyone. We didn't expect to wake up and have to rush once we selected and sent payment for late checkout. This had potential to ruin our last day. To top it off, when my partner stopped by the office in person that morning, he saw two people in there, they just never answered the phone when he called. Vacasa needs to do better. You'd think with all the houses they manage in Sea Ranch, they could at least make a trip from the office to drop off the parking pass they forgot to include rather than make us travel to them in the midst of our special event and plans, and honor the late checkout we paid for. Since my partner always follows rules and we leave places immaculate, we left as soon as possible rather than trying to stay. Overall, this really affected our trip and left us very disappointed with Vacasa. We enjoyed and recommend the house itself minus the horrid lighting.
