Neighborhood
Returning guests may know this home as SeaBreeze Sanctuary. It sits on the hill side of The Sea Ranch, where the meadow rolls down toward Highway 1 and the Pacific fills the horizon. A trail runs right below the house, and the Shell Beach trailhead is a short walk away; from there the 0.65-mile Shell Beach trail crosses meadow and pines to a wide sandy beach with tide pools. Plan on 15 to 20 minutes door to sand, including the Highway 1 crossing. The oceanfront Bluff Trail runs for miles past coves and tide pools, and forest trails climb into the redwoods and Bishop pines behind the house. Walk On Beach and Black Point Beach are close by car. Wildlife is part of the stay: deer and wild turkeys cross the meadow, quail scurry along the fence line, harbor seals lounge on the rocks below the bluffs, and gray whales pass offshore during their half year stays along the banana belt. The Sea Ranch Lodge offers oceanfront dining, drinks, and sunset views, and Sea Ranch Golf Links is a short coastal drive. Gualala is about a 10-minute drive north: Surf Market for groceries, Trinks Cafe for breakfast and pastries, plus galleries and small shops. Head south along Highway 1 for Two Fish Baking Company, Fort Ross, and the Jenner coast. Ask about the owner's nearby foraging outing along this stretch of coast; it is arranged separately and is not part of the stay (see other things to note below).

Things to know
The great-room fireplace is a real wood-burning fireplace and firewood is provided; the home also has heating for chilly coastal evenings. The private hot tub is on the enclosed front courtyard and is yours to use any time. Please keep voices low after 9 PM. The Sea Ranch is a designated dark-sky community. Exterior lighting is intentionally minimal, so bring a flashlight or headlamp for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast, hot tub included. Cell service in The Sea Ranch can be spotty. Wi-Fi is provided, and there are desks in the primary and second bedrooms for remote work. All TVs are smart TVs, sign in with your own streaming accounts. Sea Ranch recreation centers (pools, saunas, tennis) are HOA-managed; access passes are provided with your stay, and hours and availability vary seasonally. Parking passes are required for all vehicles in The Sea Ranch and are provided in the home. Deer, wild turkeys, and quail wander the meadow; harbor seals rest on the rocks below the bluffs; gray whales migrate offshore December through April; spring wildflowers peak April through June. The kitchen is stocked for real cooking: cookware, bakeware, utensils, an air fryer, pod and drip coffee makers, a spice rack, salt, pepper, and cooking oil, plus a starter supply of dish soap and paper goods. Trash and recycling are collected on Mondays; bins are by the driveway. Bring the dog: one pup per stay. Please keep dogs leashed on the trails and clean up after them. The owner of this property is a local forager who leads guided mushroom forays on the Sonoma and Mendocino coast. Forays are booked separately and are not part of your stay; ask our team for details about these awesome coastal excursions and we'll put you in touch. Sonoma County License # LIC24-1307
