From the kitchen to the deck, everything in this home is at your disposal. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. This home welcomes up to 1 dog -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Parking is available in the garage for small compact cars. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities, including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.
High-speed fiber-optic internet and WiFi are available. It's perfect for streaming entertainment, working, and Zoom meetings; however, Good to know: it can occasionally be spotty in bad weather, but generally very reliable. Verizon service is the best cell service; other services are spotty and unreliable. Good to know: this home is on the East side of Highway One above the road. There may be occasional traffic noise. An outdoor nook is available to hose off anything that needs to be hosed: freshly caught fish, ocean-drenched/sandy doggies, beach toys, etc. If you drive a compact car, you are welcome to park in the garage; the clearance is too tight for standard cars, SUVs, and trucks. Good to know: all Sea Ranch recreation centers are closed until further notice. The work-from-home experience is a joy with fast fiber-optic internet, available from every corner of the house via mesh WiFi, and enhanced by Nest. Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast. Whale watching season runs from December through April -- grab the binoculars and watch for gray whale spouts from your window. Spring (April-June) brings a wildflower show across the coastal meadows -- lupine, poppies, and iris paint the landscape. Summer (June-September) brings the warmest days and longest light. Morning fog is common along the coast -- it usually burns off by midday. Good to know: this home is on the highway side of the road, so you may hear some road noise.

Had a great stay, host was very responsive and we made good use out of the community center pass. Good location and easy to get to many places, but its close to the highway and a neighboring house so there is some noise

The smoke detector went off two of the mornings of our stay. When we notified the Vacasa office in Gualala we were told no one was on duty to replace the batteries, no maintenance person available. I pity the group that came in after us as the alarm was sure to go off at 3 am each morning of their stay. If Vacasa is in the business of renting houses then someone must be on duty 24/7 for all issues that occur. I will think twice before renting from Vacasa again.

2 of my friends and I rented this for a quiet getaway. The house is comfortable, spacious and clean. Ocean view, great hot tub and everything one could need to cook and relax for a weekend. A few things to note that weren't my favorite; late check and early check out compared to most rentals and hotels. It was fine for us, but 10 am check out feels very early to me. Before arriving instructions will be sent out to pick up a welcome packet that has parking passes in it, but it is in a different location that closes at 5pm. Check in for the house is 430pm...we planned our arrival for 4pm but hit traffic so then we couldn't pick up the welcome packet. It didn't seem like we needed parking passes unless we wanted to use the tennis courts and pool which wasn't in the original listing. I was confused so I called customer service...person only confused me more. Lastly, there are no cleaning supplies to clean up after yourself. We cooked every night we were there and beyond a sponge and dishsoap, there was nothing to clean the counters. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have a little something for people to use in case there is a spill or something. These things I've noted wouldn't prevent me from returning. The house was really comfortable and the hot tub was lovely.

Feel bad complaining about this property because we only ended up booked here after the first property we reserved cancelled on us 3 days before the trip, but there was a rodent problem that needs to be handled. We were happy with the cleanliness and amenities during our check-in and first night, but we woke up and found a lot of rodent droppings under the kitchen sink and in several of the silverware drawers in the cabinetry. Vacasa was prompt about sending someone to clean up and try to locate and seal an entry point for the rodents, which we appreciated (Tip: call the local 707 number in the binder and NOT the 503 number or you'll be stuck waiting for cust service). Unfortunately, we discovered fresh dropping the next morning (Vacasa sent someone to clean up again) as well as the morning that we checked out. That problem obviously made it very uncomfortable to use utensils and dishes and put us in a position to store food in the cooler that we luckily brought from home. Again, I feel bad pointing this out because the owners wouldn't be getting a subpar review for the property if our original booking didn't cancel on us, but I think it's a pretty serious issue that needs to be addressed for future guests.
