Nearby highlights include community heated pool (North) (2-minute drive), Shell Beach tidepools (8-minute drive), The Sea Ranch Lodge restaurant, lounge and café (8-minute drive). Trails lead from your door to the bluffs, beaches, and through the forest. Heated pools, tennis courts, a fitness center, and The Sea Ranch Lodge round out the amenities. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.

Guest access

You will have full access to the entire home and all its amenities during your stay. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. This home welcomes up to 2 dogs -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

Things to know

Wake up each morning to read the newspaper and prepare freshly ground coffee and homemade waffles in the kitchen (with a dishwasher), and gather around the dining table to admire the views and use the free WiFi to post photos of the morning's sunrise. Keep an eye open for harbor seals as you walk your dogs on the Bluff Trail (Good to know: a two-dog maximum applies), and come home to soak in the private hot tub, toss your bathing suits in the washer/dryer, and gather in the living room for a night of cable, HBO, DVD, and Blu-ray favorites on the flatscreen TV. Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times. Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast. December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon.
