The space

Private and scenic, this single-level home sits close to the bluffs at Sea Ranch, just down the street from Walk On Beach. You'll be less than one mile from Shell Beach; one mile from the heated pool, saunas, and tennis courts at the Del Mar Recreation Center; and four miles south of downtown Gualala. Couples and families will feel right at home in this lofty and light-filled retreat. It's even next door to the Samson Getaway, a home that can be rented as well for multi-family getaways. The living space is modern and open, featuring high ceilings, a sectional sofa, and large windows that face the ocean. Warm your toes by the stone fireplace (wood is provided), curl up with a novel, or play a board game at the coffee table as you watch for local wildlife. Prepare breakfast each morning in the kitchen, which offers standard appliances, a dishwasher, and a dining space for six. Neighborhood

Walk to hiking trails and gorgeous beaches from this Sea Ranch home, a dog-friendly coastal getaway with a private hot tub and firepit, panoramic views of the ocean, and access to community pools and tennis courts. For provisions, Gualala (10 minutes south) has grocery stores, restaurants, and a gas station. Jenner and Bodega Bay are scenic drives south.

Step inside and settle in -- every room and amenity in this home is yours for your stay. The private hot tub is available around the clock -- no reservation needed. This home welcomes up to 2 dogs -- the yard and nearby trails are ready for your pup. Driveway parking is available at the property. Detailed check-in instructions, including the door code, will be provided prior to your arrival. As a guest, you also have access to Sea Ranch community amenities including the pools, tennis courts, fitness center, and miles of trails. A recreation pass will be provided.

Things to know

You'll come home to an outdoor shower and a private hot tub, as well as WiFi, a flatscreen cable TV, a DVD player, and a collection of films to keep you entertained well into the evening. *Cell service and WiFi can be inconsistent Sea Ranch has three recreation centers with heated pools, saunas, and tennis courts. Access passes are provided with your stay -- check availability upon arrival as these shared amenities can be popular during peak times. Exterior lighting is minimal by design to preserve the stunning dark sky -- bring a flashlight for evening walks and enjoy some of the best stargazing on the California coast. December through April is whale season. You may spot gray whales breaching right from the bluff trail nearby. Wildflower season (April-June) transforms the coastal bluffs into a tapestry of color -- worth an extra walk on the trails. Summer offers long days and warm afternoons, though the iconic Sonoma Coast fog often rolls in at sunrise and clears by noon. Up to 2 dogs are welcome. Please keep dogs on leash on trails and clean up after them.
